Teammates Reunited
Mike founded Cresco Partners in 2010 and, over the next 11 years, the firm successfully supported the development of hundreds of teams and leaders. In 2021, Corey Seitz decided to step away from his full-time engagement at Cresco. Given Cresco’s success, identifying a replacement for Corey was critical to the company and Dave Yawman was the perfect fit.
At the time, Dave was enjoying a successful legal career as the EVP and General Counsel of PepsiCo. In that role, Dave led a global team of 600+ and worked with PepsiCo’s CEO, Board of Directors and executive teams. Beyond his legal insights, Dave was known as an authentic and collaborative servant leader and had become an important influencer of culture, leadership, and diversity & inclusion.
For some, Mike’s decision may seem unusual… why reach out to a lawyer to join Cresco? However, Mike and Dave have a relationship that dates back to 1986 and their time as college baseball teammates and roommates at the University of Notre Dame. They know, respect, and trust each other, as friends, fathers, and professionals, and they share the values of excellence, lifelong learning, growth, and people. Importantly, they know what it takes to build a successful team.
So, after a few weekend retreats in the Adirondack Mountains, Mike and Dave agreed to become teammates again at Cresco. Mike overcame the challenge of replacing Corey with the goal of continuing Cresco’s track record of success. Dave stepped away from a career and company he loved to begin a second career he had long envisioned.
Teammates reunited, with the goal of developing high-performance leaders and teams.
